Description
La Jolie Fleur, the pretty flower, is a delicate expression of Provence, in the South of France, full of freshness and minerality. This rosé is an especially soft pale pink in colour. The complex and intense nose reveals aromas of fresh grapefruit, peach, and passion fruit. A lovely summer pleasure. Enjoy as an aperitif, with red fruits and melon, ham, stuffed vegetables, and grilled fish.
Surrounded by the sea, the vines extend from the hills of Gassin to the beaches of Ramatuelle. Saint Tropez's peninsula is perfect grape growing land. The terroir offers exceptional mild temperatures all year round, the best sunshine in France, cooled by the four winds, with a strong maritime influence. The main grape varieties grown include, grenache, cinsault, syrah, cabernet, carignan, clairette, vermentino and semillon.
It all began in 1964. Eight wine-makers from the Saint Tropez peninsula decided to create a shared sales and bottling tool in order to add value to their wines on the traditional sales market. Each wine-maker vinifies their grapes in the winery at their estate with the help and support of oenologists and technicians made available to them by the Maître Vignerons (Master Wine-Makers). An initiative that at the time was very daring and innovative, but today it is an economic model unique to wine-making. The Maîtres Vignerons de Saint-Tropez is now 50 years of shared human adventure, by wine-makers who are passionate about their terroir, visionary and concerned for the future of their heritage.
