This Terre Siciliane IGT Anterra Merlot stands out for its unique warm flavors. The intense bouquet is fruity, with hints of dark cherry and mineral tones. The finish is dry and complex with light tannins. A very pleasant and unique Sicilian Merlot, which pairs excellently with grilled meats, rich flavorful soups, and strong cheeses.
Merlot was first brought over to the northern provinces of Italy during the Napoleonic invasion of the early 19th century and later spread to the southern regions of the country. Introduced to Sicily in the 1970's Merlot, when Sicily's long history of wine making started gaining global recognition.
