Description
Alta Vita's Sardinian DOC Cannonau is a beautiful bright ruby color, with deep purple hues. The nose projects ripe red berry, including strawberry and raspberry. In the mouth, coffee, spices and herbs, including an aroma of violets, plummy fruit flavors and aristocratic oak overtone. This Cannonau is full, round, fruit forward, with a very pleasing taste profile making it very easy to drink. Medium-bodied, with smooth tannins and a long finish, this wine pairs excellently with lamb shanks and grilled vegetables. Oak aged for two years in large Slavonian casks with several additional months aging directly in the bottle before release.
